現代

古代的魔法師，有一整天時修煉，非常明顯的，誰也可以理解得到，他們是可以無限地「浪費」大量的時間去實行「華麗」的魔法儀式。可是我們這一群，隱匿於浩瀚大時代裡的現代威卡魔法師(wicca)，每天管你是否情願，要上班 / 上學，甚至要照顧家庭，已經實在沒有餘力去多做一些不是最必要的事了......魔法，是「思想」，可不是「實施」！

折衷

折衷主義(eclecticism)，意指在哲學的思考或實踐的過程中運用折衷的方式。事實上，折衷主義一詞最早是由法國哲學家維多．古森（Victor Cousin）在1830年所提出的，原指由許多其他體系選取出來而建構的新體系。折衷主義並不贊同盲目的從過去的哲學體系中直接抓取以為今用，而是希望透過理性的思考並考量存於現代的適當性。折衷魔法師 / 巫師(Eclectic wicca)就是根據這個理念而誕生......

巫師

折衷巫師就是指，沒有跟隨、信奉特定某一派系的「自由身」巫師。他們是按照自己需要選擇學習那一派系的魔法，有些折衷巫師甚至可能是有某些特殊的宗教信仰(如佛學思想甚至是基督教理念......)。正如「折衷主義」一詞的解釋，只需要取他人之長，是不需要擁有自己的世界。他們會根據自己的狀況去決定遵守那些巫師的傳統，成為心靈裡最完美最真實的巫師。

Magick is not for everyone. So don't think you have to learn magick to become a master reality creator. Magick is just another tool to help you if you so desire to use it. I would suggest that unless you are completely comfortable with using magick, don't! A master reality creator rarely needs magick to create change in the world, because a master reality creator knows how to precisely construct his or her thoughts so change will occur.
